Returning to the MSU Riley Center, Grammy Award winner Kathy Mattea delivers melodies steeped in emotion and timeless narratives delivered with beauty by an unmistakable voice. Mattea’s most recent album Coal, released in April 2008, pays tribute to her family’s coal mining heritage and was produced by Marty Stuart. Mattea wanted someone who could guide her with a firm, knowledgeable hand. Stuart is well-known as a singer-songwriter but has been gaining a reputation as a seasoned producer as well. The Philadelphia, Mississippi, native is on fire creatively. He has recorded the four best albums and has put on some of the best shows of his career with his band, the Fabulous Superlatives. Performing separately and together, Mattea and Stuart will put on a show that should not be missed.
